The installation itself usually takes 2 to 3 working days, spread over about a week so the concrete around the posts can set. Ahead of that are the estimate, any town approval, the OHIO811 notice and our schedule at the time.
What happens, in order
- Free site visit, measurements and a written quote.
- Zoning certificate, permit or association approval where one is required.
- OHIO811 notice, two working days to sixteen calendar days before the dig.
- Old fence out, holes dug, posts set and left to cure.
- Rails, boards, panels or mesh go on, then gates. We tidy up and go over the fence with you.
What slows a fence job down in Akron?
- Spring, when the thaw brings a wave of calls.
- Towns that issue a zoning certificate or review a site plan first.
- Frozen ground and snow cover in January and February.
- Steep yards, where material is carried in and holes are dug by hand.
- Cobbles, roots and old footings in the hole.
- Wet clay after snowmelt or a long rain.
- Special-order panels and custom gates.
We are getting a dog in three weeks and have no fence. What is fastest?
Call now, because the OHIO811 notice and any town approval eat into those weeks. Materials we can get from stock, such as chain link and standard wood panels, go up fastest. If the whole yard cannot be done in time, a smaller dog area can be fenced first and the rest finished later.
We are putting in a pool. Fence before or after?
Partly before and partly after. Machines need access during the dig, so one side waits. Once the excavation is finished the barrier is completed, and it has to pass inspection before the pool is approved for use.
My association says fix the fallen panels by Monday and my contractor keeps delaying. Can a handyman patch it?
Yes. The fence is yours, and a handyman patch normally meets a deadline like that. Check your contract, then let the contractor know in writing what was done and why, so the proper repair and the bill stay clear.
A measured, written quote is the only number you can rely on, and ours is free. Call (330) 521-3641 or text a photo of the yard.
