Height and wind are the engineering here. A tall fence with screen on it is under real load on an exposed site, so the posts are larger, closer together and set in deep footings below the frost. A court also has to stay level while Akron's ground does not, so one side of the enclosure often sits on a cut or a fill and the footings are adjusted to suit.

Can a tennis court fence be adapted for pickleball?
Yes. The surrounding fence works for both. Low divider fences between pickleball courts can be added inside a tennis enclosure.
Can you replace the mesh and keep the posts?
Often. If the posts are straight, solid and not rusted through at the base, new fabric and rails can be hung on them. Posts that have leaned with frost are reset or replaced.
Does windscreen damage the fence?
It adds a lot of wind load. On a fence built for it there is no harm. On an older, lighter fence the screen can pull posts out of line, so we check the frame before adding it.
